ABOUT US

Uttam started his career in 1982 with a confectionery company in Fiji, where he kept a fleet of 16 vehicles operating, from services to mechanical and body repairs, including Ford, Holden and Toyota. Uttam moved onto rally and sport vehicles including Minis and Ford Escorts for the next several years.

Uttam worked on the Toyota assembly line in Fiji for tractors and machinery whilst working part time for Hyundai Motors Fiji before opening his workshop Vikash Motors in Fiji.

When Uttam moved to Christchurch in 2000 he joined DesignLine Bus Company assembling their heavy vehicles and coaches as well as heading the country-wide breakdown service.

When Uttam started K & K General Motor Repairs in 2016 his son Jay began working for the business in mechanical repairs and panel beating, as he has done for many years prior with other automotive businesses in New Zealand. K & K General Motor Repairs now services all makes & models, restores Japanese performance vehicles, classic cars and imported rally vehicles from engine and transmission to suspension, body & paint with their team of qualified experts.

Very kind and nice workers. They helped me a lot with my car situation. The appointments are easy to make and they are open on Saturdays which is awesome for people who have to work during weekdays.

While on a road trip, our car had became overdue on service after all the milage.
On a spontaneous notice, these guys fitted our car in the same day and refreshed it with a service (oil & filter change) and standard checks.
After about an hour we were back on the road again.
